ABSTRACT This specification covers a type of plowable, retroreflective, raised pavement marker for lane marking and delineation. Retroreflective markers are intended for nighttime visibility. Markers shall be classified as to type, color, and intended application. The types of markers are: type A, type B, and type E. The colors of markers are: white, yellow, red, blue, and green. The intended applications of markers are: marker to be mounted in a holder, and marker to be mounted in a recess. The construction requirements for retroreflective markers are presented in details. The coefficient of luminous intensity, abrasion resistance, compressive strength, and impact strength shall be tested to meet the requirements specified. The holder ramp hardness shall be tested to meet the requirements prescribed.
