BS 5072 discusses methods of testing for sodium fluoride for industrial use. BS 5072-1 is the first part of the BS 5072 multi-series and discusses the determination of the water-insoluble matter in sodium fluoride for industrial use. Sodium fluoride is used as a flux, for example, in the manufacture of steel, for scrubbing hydrogen fluoride from fluorine, as a pesticide, and for the fluoridation of water supplies in dental health programs.
