Abstract
BS 5446-1:2000 specifies requirements and test methods for smoke alarms using scattered light, transmitted light, or ionization intended for permanent installation on ceilings or walls of dwellings for the purpose of life safety. It also covers smoke alarms suitable for use in leisure accommodation vehicles (LAVs).
