What is BS 593 - Laboratory thermometers   about?

BS 593 is an international standard that discusses the aspects of good quality laboratory thermometers . BS 593 specifies requirements for series A, B, and F laboratory thermometers calibrated either for total or for partial immersion, covering the overall temperature ranges – 30 °C to + 400 °C and – 23 °F to + 320 °F. BS 593 describes the thermometers that are of the mercury-in-glass, solid-stem type filled with dry inert gas at a suitable pressure.
