What is BS 6410 - Filter papers testing about?

Filter paper is a semi-permeable paper barrier placed perpendicular to a liquid or airflow. It is used to separate fine solid particles from liquids or gases. BS 6410 describes methods of test for filter papers made by the papermaking process. The test methods in BS 6410 apply to filter papers made by the papermaking process. These methods apply to filter papers treated with substantial quantities of thermoplastic or thermosetting resins, e.g., a phenol-formaldehyde resin. BS 6410 stipulates the technicalities such as related terms and definitions, test principle, apparatus, atmosphere of conditioning and testing, sampling, preparation of test specimens, procedure, calculation and expression of the results, and stating test report for determining the strength of filter paper.
