1   Scope This Part of BS 6859 specifies requirements for fixed-pedestal general operating tables with tops of four or more sections. Fixed-pedestal operating tables intended for use with specialist procedures and accessories to tables are outside the scope of this Part of BS 6859, except that dimensions for accessory clamps have been specified to ensure interchangeability of accessories between tables.
