1   Scope This Part of BS 7254 gives recommendations for the care and handling of orthopaedic surgical implants made of metal, ceramic or polymeric material, and also acrylic resin cement (used for the fixation of certain implants). The recommendations in this Part of BS 7254 do not apply to the care and handling of orthopaedic or other surgical instruments.

NOTE 1. Handling and packaging procedures for the implant manufacturer are not included, but may be found in the appropriate Parts of BS 3531, BS 7251 or BS 7253.
