BS 7917 discusses elastomer insulated fire resistant cables. The aim of BS 7917 is to provide the manufacturer with the best industry requirements that ensures the efficiency and reliability of the elastomer insulated fire resistant cables. BS 7917 specifies requirements for the construction, dimensions and mechanical and electrical properties of cables for fixed wiring of lighting, power, control, instrumentation and propulsion circuits in ships and on mobile and fixed offshore units, having a rated voltage up to and including 3 300/3 300 V, and which have fire resistance (limited circuit integrity) in the event of fire.
