Abstract
What is BS EN 12697-41 - asphalt resistance to de-icing fluids about? While bituminous mixes are stable, flexible, and workable; they need to be resistant to de-icing fluids in order to remain intact in the long run. BS EN 12697-41 is the 41 st part of the ‘bituminous mixtures – test methods for hot mix asphalt’ multi-series. BS EN 12697-41 specifies a test method to determine the resistance of bituminous materials to deicing fluids such as solutions of acetate and formate. The procedure determines the surface tensile strength of a specimen of asphalt which has been stored in the de-icing fluid. BS EN 12697-41 is primarily used as a test on asphalt to be laid on airfields, but it can be used for asphalt to be laid on roads or other paved areas.
Who is BS EN 12697-41 - asphalt resistance to de-icing fluids for? BS EN 12697-41 on asphalt resistance to de-icing fluids is useful for:
Airport authorities Road maintenance authorities Real estate developers who maintain roads and pavements within complexes Manufacturers and suppliers of bituminous mixtures Suppliers of construction materials Construction and civil engineers Contractors
