BS EN 13126 is a European Standard on building hardware for windows and door height windows. It is a multipart product standard which enables the testing of hardware components or sets. The main aim of the BS EN 13126 series is to help manufacturers of hardware for windows and door height windows demonstrate the performance and reliability of their products. BS EN 13126-1 is the first part of the BS EN 13126 series that specifies performance requirements for the strength and durability of hardware for the operation of movable sashes of windows and door height windows including requirements and test methods common to all hardware. BS EN 13126-1 is applicable to the hardware suitable for windows and door height windows whatever the material used for the construction of the window. BS EN 13126-1 applies only to hardware that connects a movable sash to its fixed frame or controls the opening and closing of the movable sash.
