What is BS EN 13126-3 - Requirements of Tilt&Turn, Tilt- First and Turn-Only handles about?
BS EN 13126 is a European Standard on building hardware for windows and door height windows.
It is a multipart product standard which enables the testing of hardware components or sets.
The main aim of the BS EN 13126 series is to help manufacturers of hardware for windows and door height windows demonstrate the performance and reliability of their products.
BS EN 13126-3 is the third part of the BS EN 13126 series that specifies the requirements and test procedures for durability, strength, security and functionality of handles.
BS EN 13126-3 is applicable to Tilt&Turn, Tilt-First and Turn-Only hardware for use on windows and door height windows.
Handles may also be used on other opening types, e.g., on In-line Sliding, Tilt&Slide, Fold&Slide, horizontal and vertical-pivoting windows.
Note: BS EN 13126-3 is not applicable to the following hardware:
Operation devices and door handles for door latches and door locks (refer to EN 1906)
Handles with handle length > 170 mm (refer to Figure B.1)
Electromechanical hardware.
