Abstract
What is BS EN 13979-1 about?
BS EN 13979-1 is the first part of the BS EN 13979 series of documents that defines a design assessment procedure of a forged and rolled monobloc wheel (RST). BS EN 13979-1 describes, in particular, the assessment to be performed in order to use wheels on a European network which, in addition, have quality requirements in conformity. This assessment requires that the conditions of use for the wheel are defined and BS EN 13979-1 provides a method for defining those conditions.
