Scuba instructors at level 1 are qualified to teach and assess confined water skills and theoretical knowledge up to diver level 1. Under the supervision of a level-2 instructor, they may also teach the theoretical knowledge for levels 2 and 3, and may teach any level of diver in confined water, such as a swimming pool.
