What is BS EN 15531-3 - Public transport-SIRI about?

Public transport services rely on information systems to ensure reliable, efficient operation and widely accessible, accurate passenger information. The Standard Interface for Real-time information (SIRI) is an XML protocol to allow distributed computers to exchange real-time information about public transport services and vehicles. BS EN 15531 series specifies SIRI about Public Transport operations. SIRI is used to exchange information between servers containing real-time public transport vehicle or journey time data, as well as between server and end-user devices like smartphones or web browsers.
