Abstract
What is BS EN 16028 - Requirements of lubricants for trainborne about?
BS EN 16028 is a series on railway applications. A railway is a means of transferring passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are located on tracks. BS EN 16028 specifies the requirements of lubricants intended for lubrication of the wheel-rail. The interface between the wheel flange and the rail gauge corner (active interface) is applied either directly or indirectly to the wheel flange or to the rail to achieve an acceptable level of friction and wear. BS EN 16028 covers the approval procedure, the method of testing and routine control/monitoring of the lubricant.
