BS EN 167:2002 PDF

This European Standard specifies optical test methods for eye-protectors, the requirements for which are contained in other European Standards. Alternative methods may be used if shown to be equivalent. Tests are described for spherical, astigmatic and prismatic refractive powers, unmounted oculars covering one eye, unmounted oculars covering both eyes and mounted oculars (spectacles, goggles and face-shields), light diffusion test, assessment of the quality of material and surface, determination of transmittance, determination of variations in luminous transmittance, and determination of spectral reflectance in infrared. Non-optical test methods are given in BS EN 168. Specifications are given in BS EN 166. Definition of terms is given in BS EN 165.
