Abstract
What is BS EN 4689 about?
The finish coating over the primer looks good and adds to the longevity of the product. Polyurethane used as the finishing coat provides fuel efficiency in addition to protecting the aircraft. BS EN 4689 specifies the requirements for a two-components flexible polyurethane topcoat to be applied over chromate and lead-free, and epoxy primers mainly for exterior aerospace applications. The primer and the polyurethane finish tested in BS EN 4689 will be applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
