What is BS EN 488 - District heating pipes about?
BS EN 488 discusses district heating pipes. District heating is the concept of having one or more central heat sources instead of individual boilers. BS EN 488 specifies requirements and test methods for factory-made thermally insulated bonded valve assemblies for hot water networks in accordance with EN 13941-1 , comprising a steel valve, rigid polyurethane foam thermal insulation and a casing of polyethylene. The valve assembly could also include the following additional elements: measuring wires, spacers and diffusion barriers.
