BS EN 50206 is a European standard that discusses the pantographs used in rolling stock for railway applications. BS EN 50206-2 is the second part of a multi-part series that outlines the general assembly characteristics that are to be applied to pantographs to enable current collection from the overhead line equipment. BS EN 50206-2 defines the tests the pantographs must perform, excluding insulators. BS EN 50206-2 relates to conventional suspended overhead line equipment and accessories. The systems (or part of them) which are rigidly suspended can require special consideration between the customer and the supplier. Note 1: BS EN 50206-2 does not apply to pantograph dielectric tests, which are to be performed on the pantograph installed on the vehicle roof. If no other requirement is agreed upon between customer and supplier, insulation coordination according to EN 50124-1 may be used. Note 2: BS EN 50206-2 does not apply to pantographs used on mainline vehicles. These pantographs are considered in EN 50206-1 .
