1   Scope

EN 50264‑2‑2 specifies requirements for, and constructions and dimensions of, multicore cables of the following types and voltage ratings:

• 300/500 V screened or unscreened (1 mm 2 , 1,5 mm 2 and 2,5 mm 2 , number of cores from 2 to 40);

• 0,6/1 kV screened or unscreened

(1,5 mm 2 to 50 mm 2 , 2, 3 and 4 cores).

NOTE Not all conductor sizes or number of cores are specified for every type.

All cables have class 5 tinned copper conductors to EN 60228, halogen-free insulation and halogen-free sheath. They are for use in railway rolling stock as fixed wiring, or wiring where limited flexing in operation is encountered.
