Abstract
What is BS EN 60335-2-3 – Safety requirements for electric irons about ?
Daily life laundry needs demand for some particular requirement of electric irons. Safety for these products is a prime concern. BS EN 60335-2-3 deals with the safety of electric dry irons and steam irons , including those with a separate water reservoir or boiler having a capacity not exceeding 5 l, for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. BS EN 60335-2-3 with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in the household and similar environments. Appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops and other premises for normal housekeeping purposes are within the scope of this standard.
