BS EN 60444-9 is the ninth part of an international standard that focuses on the measurement of quartz crystal unit parameters. BS EN 60444-9 describes two methods for determining the spurious (unwanted) modes of piezoelectric crystal resonators.  It specifies the following methods:

Method A i.e., full parameter determination, which allows the determination of the equivalent parameters of spurious resonances and is based on the methods, the same measurement equipment. Method B i.e., resistance determination is used for the determination of high impedance spurious resonance as specified, for certain filter crystals.

BS EN 60444-9 extends the capabilities and improves the reproducibility and accuracy compared to previous methods.
