Abstract
What is BS EN 60603-3 - Attaching connectors to printed boards about?
Electrical connectors are used to join electrical conductors to create an electrical circuit. BS EN 60603-3 applies to a group of related rectangular, multi-contact, two-part printed board connectors with male and female contacts in conjunction with either solder or solderless terminations (such as wrap type). All connectors have the same contact spacing using the basic grid of 2.54 mm(0.100 in). BS EN 60603-3 specifies dimensions of free connectors with male contacts, dimensions of fixed connectors with female contacts, mating information, gauges for testing “probe damage” and “retention force”, characteristics, voltage proof, current-carrying capacity, creepage distance, clearance distance, climatic group etc.
Who is BS EN 60603-3 - Attaching connectors to printed boards for? BS EN 60603-3 on attaching connectors to printed boards is useful for:
Manufacturers of electronic devices
Maintenance and augmentation teams
Companies associated with designing and installation of electronic devices
