BS EN 60811-512 is the 512th part of EN 60811 series. The IEC 60811 series specifies the test methods to be used for testing non-metallic materials of all types of cables. These test methods are intended to be referenced in standards for cable construction and for cable materials. BS EN 60811-512 describes the procedure for testing tensile strength and elongation at break after conditioning at elevated temperature. It is specific to polyethylene and polypropylene compounds . This test is intended for samples from filled cables, of polyolefin insulations with a wall the thickness of more than 0,8 mm and for polyolefin sheaths in direct contact with the filling c ompound.
