BS EN 60871-4 is the fourth part of the multi-series standard used for Shunt capacitors for AC power systems having a rated voltage above 1 000 V that specifies the test methods and procedures for internal fuses. This helps in manufacturing good quality internal fuses used in shunt capacitors for AC power systems. BS EN 60871-4 applies to internal fuses which are designed to isolate faulty capacitor elements, in order to allow the operation of the remaining parts of that capacitor unit and the bank in which the capacitor unit is connected.
