Abstract
What is BS EN 61462 - Composite hollow insulator about?
BS EN 61462 is a British standard on composite hollow insulator. BS EN 61462 guideline applies to composite hollow insulators consisting of a load-bearing insulating tube made of resin impregnated fibers, a housing (outside the insulating tube) made of elastomeric material (for example silicone or ethylene-propylene) and metal fixing devices at the ends of the insulating tube. BS EN 61462 provides specifications regarding the tests in this standard which are performed at normal ambient temperature.
