What is BS EN 61753-111-9 - Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components performance standard about?
BS EN 61753 is a series on fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components performance standards. Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components do not require electrical-to-optical or optical-to-electrical conversion during their operation. BS EN 61753-111-9 contains the minimum test and measurement requirements and severities that a sealed fibre optic closure must satisfy in order to be categorised as meeting the IEC standard for category S – subterranean, as defined in Annex A of IEC 61753-1 . Note: Free-breathing closures are not covered in BS EN 61753-111-9 .
