Abstract
What is BS EN 61810-3 - Relays with forcibly guided contacts about?
An electromechanical relay is a type of relay which functions using a magnetic field produced by an electromagnetic coil when a control signal is applied to it. It is called electromechanical since it has moving contacts in the output circuit which are operated by applying an electrical signal. BS EN 61810-3 - EM applies to elementary relays in which special design and constructional measures are used to ensure that make (normally-open) contacts cannot assume the same state as break (normally-closed) contacts. These relays can be used in self-monitoring control systems, e.g. safety-related control systems. BS EN 61810-3 specifies special requirements and tests for elementary relays with forcibly guided ...
