BS EN ISO 8130-1 is the first part of the BS EN 8130 multi-series on coating powders. BS EN 8130-1 specifies a method to find out the particle size distribution of coating powders, by sieve analysis. Particle size distributions with fewer than 100 μm are determined by laser diffraction. This method can be used as a quality control procedure ( go / no go test) by checking the amount retained on a single sieve. The following particle sizes are typical for coating powders, however, the particle size can deviate depending on the application:
