What is ISO 5209 - General purpose industrial valves about?

ISO 5209 discusses general-purpose industrial valves. A valve is a device or  natural object  that regulates, directs, or controls the flow of a fluid (gases, liquids, fluidized solids, or  slurries ) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. ISO 5209 specifies the requirements for the mandatory and optional markings of general-purpose industrial valves. ISO 5209 defines the method of applying the markings, on the body, on a flange, on an identification plate or any other location.
