BS EN IEC 60633 is a European standard that discusses the vocabulary of high voltage direct current. It helps to increase the system ability, by preventing cascading failures from propagating from one part of the wider power transmission grid to another.  
BS EN IEC 60633 defines terms for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission systems and HVDC substations using electronic power converters for the conversion from AC to DC or vice versa.
