BS EN IEC 61300 is a series on fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components. The broad variety of passive optical components applications include multichannel transmission, distribution, optical taps for monitoring, pump combiners for fibre amplifiers, bit-rate limiters, optical connects, route diversity, polarization diversity, interferometers, and coherent communication. BS EN IEC 61300 ‑ 3 ‑ 21 describes a method to measure the switching time and related performance parameters of a fibre optic spatial switch when the actuation energy is applied or removed to change the state of the switch.
