What is BS EN IEC 61850 ‑ 8 ‑ 2 - Communication networks and systems for power utility automation about?
BS EN IEC 61850 is a series on Specific Communication Service Mapping that specifies a method of exchanging data through any kind of network, including public networks. Among the various kinds of services specified only the client/server and time synchronization services are considered so far. For the client/server services, the principle is to map the objects and services of the ACSI to XML messages transported over XMPP. The mapping description includes mainly three aspects:
