BS EN IEC 61970 is a series on Energy management system application program interface (EMS-API). An energy management system application program interface is a computer-aided tool used by power system operators to monitor, control, and carry out optimal energy management. BS EN IEC 61970 ‑ 600 ‑ 2 defines the profiles included in the Common Grid Model Exchange Standard (CGMES). BS EN IEC 61970 ‑ 600 ‑ 2 includes the profile definition and related constraints’ definitions. In the case where a CGMES profile makes a restriction on the referenced profile, the restriction is defined in BS EN IEC 61970 ‑ 600 ‑ 2.
