Abstract
What is BS EN IEC 62282-8-101 about?
BS EN IEC 62282-8-101 is a part of multi-series international standards that discusses fuel cell technology. It gives guidance about general safety conditions, test environment, detailed test procedures and computation of results, test reports etc. for estimating the performance of solid oxide single cells and stacks for energy storage purposes.
BS EN IEC 62282-8-101 addresses solid oxide cell (SOC) and stack assembly units. It provides for testing systems, instruments and measuring methods to test the performance of SOC cell/stack assembly units for energy storage purposes. It assesses performance in fuel cell mode, in electrolysis mode and/or in reversible operation.
Note 1: BS EN IEC 62282-8-101 is not applicable to small button cells that are designed for SOC material testing and provide no practical means of reactant utilization measurement, or to single-chamber SOC.
Note 2: BS EN IEC 62282-8-101 is not intended to be applied to fuel cell/stack assembly units for power generation purposes only.
