Abstract
What is ISO 17830 - Determination of disintegrated pellets about?
Solid biofuels are derived from non-fossil, and organic materials which includes plant biomass, municipal waste, and animal waste which can be used to produce energy for heating, electricity generation or cooking.
ISO 17830 defines the requirements and method used to determine particle size distribution of disintegrated pellets. It is applicable for pellets that fully disintegrate in hot water.
ISO 17830 specifies the method which is based on experience with pellets made from sawdust, wood shavings, and milled wood, as well as straw. The method may also be applicable for pellets produced from other solid biofuel materials provided that they can be dissolved into its constituents in water.
