BS IEC 61559 is an International Electrotechnical Commission standard on radiation protection instrumentation in nuclear facilities that discusses the requirements for centralized systems for continuous monitoring of radiation and/or levels of radioactivity to ensure protection against radiation hazards.
BS IEC 61559-1 is the first in the BS IEC 61559 series that applies to centralized systems intended for continuous monitoring of radiation and/or levels of radioactivity installed in nuclear facilities, primarily in support of radiological protection in the working areas.
