Abstract
What is BS IEC 62705 - Radiation monitoring systems for nuclear power plants about?
BS IEC 62705 is an International Standard that applies to the radiation monitoring system (RMS) installed in nuclear power plants (NPPs). BS IEC 62705 gives requirements for the lifecycle management of radiation monitoring systems and gives guidance on the application of existing IEC standards covering the design and qualification of systems and equipment. BS IEC 62705 is applicable to RMSs intended to be used during normal operations and anticipated operational occurrences and to be used during and/or after accident conditions. The technical guidance contained in BS IEC 62705 applies to nuclear power plants, although the specific functions of individual facilities shall be considered during the design and operational lifecycle of RMS. Unless otherwise specified in BS IEC 62705 , top-level IEC SC 45A standard, IEC 61513, and the second level IEC SC 45A standards apply to RMSs .
