Abstract
BS ISO 30300 - Information and documentation - Management systems for records - Fundamentals and vocabulary
The formation and administration of records are integral to any organization’s activities enabling accountability, risk management and business continuity. They allow organizations to capitalize on the value of their information resources and contribute to the preservation of collective memory; responding to the increasing challenges of the global and digital environment.

It is often overlooked that records management is not purely a technical matter but in fact management responsibility. To help organizations improve their records management, ISO has developed a new family of Management System for Records - the series.
Implementing a Management System for Records will allow an organization to create a common policy and practice benchmarks across different countries, cultures and jurisdictions; support legal compliance and protection and offer the ability to set and assess performance measures for the use of commercial service providers.
