IEC 60335-2-55:2021

Overview

IEC 60335-2-55:2021 is an international safety standard from the IEC for electrical appliances for use with aquariums and garden ponds (household and similar use). It applies to appliances with a rated voltage not more than 250 V (including DC and battery-operated devices) and covers common hazards encountered in and around the home. Examples in scope include aerators, aquarium heaters, automatic food dispensers, and sludge-suction appliances. This fourth edition (2021) is a technical revision that replaces the 2002 edition and its 2008 amendment.
