Describes procedures for the measurement of current-voltage characteristics of photovoltaic devices in natural or simulated sunlight. Lays down basic requirements for the measurement, defines procedures for different measuring techniques in use and shows practices for minimising measurement uncertainty.
Abstract
Overview
IEC 60904-1:2006 - "Photovoltaic devices - Part 1: Measurement of photovoltaic current‑voltage characteristics" is an international standard from the IEC that defines procedures and basic requirements for measuring I–V (current‑voltage) characteristics of photovoltaic (PV) cells, sub‑assemblies and modules under natural or simulated sunlight. The standard focuses on consistent measurement practice, spectral and temperature correction, and ways to minimise measurement uncertainty in PV performance testing.
