This document specifies the requirements, content, structure and identification location of a product identification numbering system for earth-moving machinery as defined in ISO 6165. NOTE: ISO 10261 PIN can be used on other types of off-road work machines. It is not applicable to the identification of components or attachments.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 10261:2021 specifies a standardized product identification numbering (PIN) system for earth‑moving machinery (as defined in ). The standard defines the required content, structure, character set, marking locations and durability requirements for a unique 17‑character PIN assigned by the manufacturer. Although targeted at earth‑moving machines, the PIN can also be used on other off‑road work machines. It does not apply to components or attachments.
