Overview - ISO 10439-1:2015 (General requirements)

ISO 10439-1:2015 sets the general requirements for axial compressors, single-shaft and integrally geared process centrifugal compressors, and expander-compressors used in the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. It specifies minimum requirements and recommendations covering design, materials, testing, inspection and supplier documentation for rotating compressor equipment. This part provides the baseline requirements that apply across the other parts of ISO 10439 and is intended to be used in conjunction with ISO 10439‑2, ISO 10439‑3 and ISO 10439‑4.

Note: ISO 10439-1:2015 excludes fans (covered by API 673), blowers that develop less than 34 kPa (5 psi) pressure rise, packaged integrally geared plant and instrument air compressors (covered by API 672), and hot gas expanders above 300 °C (570 °F).
