ISO 10545-13:2016 - Ceramic tiles - Part 13: Determination of chemical resistance - specifies a standardized laboratory test method for assessing the chemical resistance of ceramic tiles at room temperature. The procedure is applicable to all types of ceramic tiles and defines test solutions, specimen preparation, exposure conditions and visual classification criteria used to evaluate damage from household chemicals, swimming pool salts, acids and alkalis.

- Post-test: Rinse under running water 10 min, dry at (105 ± 5) °C, cool before evaluation.

- Visual examination, pencil test (HB pencil) and reflection test (40 W lamp) for normal classification into classes A, B, C.
- Alternative visual classification (A(V), B(V), C(V) and LA/HA variants) for tiles where the pencil/reflection tests are not applicable.
- Test report: Must reference ISO 10545-13 and record tile description, procedure, test solutions, results and classification per solution/specimen.
