Test Principle

Sample Preparation and Selection

Testing Procedures
- With Immersion: For tiles with water absorption ≤ 10%, vertical immersion in cold water bath.
- Without Immersion: For glazed tiles with water absorption > 10%, tiles are placed glazed side down on aluminum granules over the water bath.
- Temperature cycling involves immersion/placement in cold bath for 15 minutes, then transfer to hot oven until uniform heating (approx. 20 minutes), repeated 10 times.

Evaluation and Reporting
After testing, tiles are visually inspected for defects under consistent lighting. Optional use of methylene blue dye aids defect detection. The test report includes tile description, water absorption rate, test type, and number of tiles showing defects.
