Overview
ISO 10596:2009 - Ships and marine technology: Marine wind vane and anemometers - defines the type, structure, function, performance and test methods for wind vanes and anemometers installed on ships for navigational use (per SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 5). It covers sensors, displays, signal outputs and environmental/EMC requirements for instruments that measure wind direction and wind speed at sea.
