This document specifies a spectrophotometric method for the determination of phosphorus in steel and cast iron. The method is applicable to phosphorus contents between 0,001 0 % (mass fraction) and 1,0 % (mass fraction).

Overview
ISO 10714:2024 specifies a phosphovanadomolybdate spectrophotometric method for the determination of phosphorus content in steel and cast iron. The method covers phosphorus mass fractions from 0.0010 % to 1.0 % and describes sample dissolution, chemical treatment, extraction and spectrophotometric measurement. This second edition (2024) updates precision data and replaces the 1992 edition.
