Describes the forms of printed images and the sizes of alphanumeric characters as well as the signs and graphical symbols (OCR-A) intended for optical character reading according to ISO 646-1973.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 1073-1:1976 defines the OCR-A alphanumeric character set - the shapes and dimensions of printed images intended for optical character recognition (OCR). This International Standard specifies centrelines, nominal stroke widths and printing-frame dimensions for the OCR‑A repertoire in three sizes, supplies radii and corner guidance, and gives rules for vertical and horizontal placement of characters. It is intended to promote reliable machine and human reading of printed alphanumeric characters and graphics compatible with :1973.
