ISO 1103:2007

Overview

ISO 1103:2007 - Road vehicles - Coupling balls for caravans and light trailers - Dimensions - specifies the dimensional and installation requirements for coupling balls used to connect caravans and light trailers (categories O1 and O2) to towing vehicles (categories M or N). The standard defines the geometry and clearance space around the coupling ball to ensure mechanical compatibility, safe coupling/uncoupling and correct installation height for towing systems.

• Checking procedure: Defines vehicle and test conditions (level surface, tyre pressure, loading distribution, transmission/brake states and suspension settings) for verifying ball position and height.
