ISO 1119:2011 - Geometrical product specifications (GPS) for a series of conical tapers and taper angles - gives calculated cone angles and rates of taper for general engineering use. The standard covers plain conical surfaces with cone angles from 120° down to less than 1° (taper ratios approximately 1:0.289 to 1:500). It provides reference values (Tables 1 and 2) to simplify design, production and measurement of conical parts but excludes prismatic pieces, taper threads, bevel gears and other non‑plain conical geometries.
